It’s a reality dreamt by many, to own and operate a successful hospitality business, who doesn’t get a kick out of making people happy?

The hospitality sector is a special place, business truly connects with customers. It demands more than the customer expects. The business of hospitality is to create an environment for memories – never underestimate this fact! Childhood memories of grandad taking you to the hot-choc-café or Chloe’s birthday meal at Eskmill restaurant – from the Chip-Inn that Ray and Laura get their weekend takeaway from, to afternoon tea for mums birthday at The Balmoral Hotel, every establishment has a responsiblity to to be the place of a special memory. I met my wife for the first time in a Starbucks, a boring old everyday Starbucks, but forever and ever a sacred place in our relationship (as our kids are persistently reminded everytime we pass it!).

The joy of working in this industry is the getting it right. You usually get one chance to make your customers happy, so you need to perform. This website is designed to be the go-to for making that possible. From start-up planning to ongoing training, our purspose is to support every venture, but particularly the start-ups. Having been through the pain of startup we look to give the best possible information to enable the success of new ventures. We simply love the industry, and its impact on the people that walk through our doors.

With all that being said, we have to stress, (really stress!), this is not a business for the faint of heart – if you’re in, YOU’RE IN! – it’s a tough days work, and unfortunately it takes time to become profitable, never mind being financially worthwhile. It’s for that reason that we created this site. When we started out, we found ourselves saying often “if only we knew that at the start!” Getting the planning right is important, execution is critical – there’s rarely second chances in this industry.
